Cabañas del Sol
The canyon is formed by the Atuel River, the Valle Grande reservoir, the Atuel Canyon and the El Nihuil reservoir. It is a journey of about 160 km round trip from the city, along the paved roads going up the nervous river Atuel. The landscape is a finished sample of the Andean ecosystem. The erosion of the water and the wind carved with the patience of the centuries the imposing and extensive tunnel of the canyon, which capriciously wounds the mountains adorned with vegetation, in an area of about 100 km. You can see La Torta de Hojaldre, El Cinturón de San Martín, La Procesión, El Hongo, el Búho, the submarine and many other formations.
